The Power Of The Force

2. What is the force?

The force. Sometimes referred to as an "hokey religion", or even "sorcery", The force is none of these. In fact, the force itself is nothing more then an energy field, as described in Obi-wan Kenobi's Teachings (Obi-wan:*****)

Such an often asked question has been answered by more then one Jedi master over the years, and although the answer never changes, some allow more insight then others.

This energy is not impossible to tap, by far no, for that is what a force sensitive person (someone who has ability for using the force) must learn to do to become a jedi. To do this, one must consult a jedi master for help, (or at least this book of thier word) as every apprentice needs guidence to insure a smooth path of learning. It is so important, and I cannot stress this enough, that you never tap into the dark side. Although its not entirly impossible to turn back, it is however very difficult and will most likely destroy you in the process. I just wanted to give you that warning beforehand.

It is common among sentient beings to wonder why they exist. This is an irrelevant question; for there is no reason for being. However as life grew to the diverse levels and complexity that it has reached, it developed the ability to become more than the sum of its parts. It grew a soul. This is the Force. It is the combined soul of universal life itself. The Force, however, is not inherently good or bad. It holds the combined feelings of the universe. Some life has hate, anger and fear. Some life has joy, patience and harmony. The Force shares all of these qualities with the beings of the universe. This is why it is possible to use the Force for evil as well as good. Because initially there is no reason for life a true Jedi understands that nobody needs anything. A Need is merely an obligatory Want.

When one needs money it is only to necessitate the purchase of food and water. When one needs food and water it is only to necessitate living. A Jedi's selflessness begins with the understanding that they do not need to live. They are protectors of life. Not users of it. A Jedi's soul lies within the Force. Whether a Jedi lives 30 years or 900 years is irrelevant. As long as they use the Force to help protect the life that created them and it.

Nobody has the right to use the Force for their own gain. The Force belongs to all life and therefore should only be used to serve it. Those who use the Force for themselves are on the Dark path. Only the ignorant and those corrupted by the seductiveness of the Dark Side give in to these needs and wants.

"Adventure, excitement, a Jedi craves not these things." (Yoda:*****)

A Jedi should concentrate on where they are, what they can do to help their environment and respect the life that sustains them. A true Jedi respects the Dark Side. For it to is part of the Force. It is their job to ensure that others also only respect it but do not obey it. Jedi do not fear death. Death is no more an end than birth is a beginning. Things do not begin and end. Things merely change.

The Force will always be with you. You must always be with Force.

The Force has many names throughout history, mana, ki, and quintessence among others, but all share a common vision of it's existence and power. Those among us who learn to co-exist with it can find peace and great strength and ability in times of duress.

The Force is the great equalizer in the galaxy. It's disciples are not hampered by size and shall always overcome in the face of adversity. Take the daisy that cracks the boulder to reach the sunlight, the Force can empower life to achieve what might be seen to some as impossible.

We are all children of the Force and charged with it's protection. Life begets the Force and needless destruction of life will in turn send ripples of discord through all that live. A Jedi draws from the Force to protect life. Now that you have insight to the force, perhaps it is time to tell you the story of the Jedi.
